Ratzinger + Lewis. What a pairing.

Here’s the quote. Of course it’s in my book — but I wanted to write more on it haha

It won't let me see the image. Weird. Looking forward to the book!

Great piece Eddie. I notice alot of this with my new age friends as it relates to The Church. In no world can they see there being any real value in The Church, even if contains accumulated wisdom about what it means to be a human being. Wisdom that has sustained her as the oldest western institution, tested and tried in every society on earth for over 2000 years....And why? Because Her wisdom suggests that there are real limits to their autonomy. Everything, including the life of their soul, must be first and foremost about their autonomous limitless choice. That is their god, that is the modern god. And this puerile subjectivity suspends everyone in a state of perpetual childhood. If there are no limits, no standards, only your set of feelings/impulses/beliefs then actually there is no maturation possible, only change.(hit tip M Crawford)
